About me:

I'm an avid backpacker, amature photographer, and all around nature lover. I have been hiking and backpacking in the Southwest for the past 14 years. I grew up in rural Kentucky where I spent most summers exploring the hills and woods around my house. I joined the Navy at 17 and have never looked back since. After getting out of the military I went to Architecture school in Boston where I lived for 10 years. After one to many long cold winters I moved to Arizona and instantly felt at home in the desert. My future plans include hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and exploring the Pacific Northwest in the near future.

Why I’m participating with mYAMAdventure

What YAMA Mountain Gear does for the Pacific Crest Trail and future thru hikers is truly inspiring and I would like to give a little something back by fundraising through mYAMAdventure.

What hiking the PCT means to me:

I’ve come to realize this is not just an extended backpacking trip or a long distance endurance race. I see this a something very personal and more akin to a spiritual journey.

Why support the PCTA?

The PCTA is the heart of what makes the PCT such an awesome experience. This is shown best by the people who are passionate about promoting & maintaining one of america's great national trails.

There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more.
